Visited London the end of November to catch up with my friends; to catch some events and to have a much-deserved night out drinking ;)
Got up early (for a day off :P) to head to Oxford Street for 11.30am where they had closed the road to cars and were celebrating the beginning of Christmas shopping. They had McFly playing three songs on an outside stage in the centre of Oxford Circus. As soon as I heard they would be doing this and I happened to already be in London, I just had to go! xP McFly is my guilty pleasure music :’) They are lovely guys with cute Beatles-esque pop music.
During their performance it snowed! I think it was fake snow, but I’m gonna believe it was real :P Because it was just so pretty and magical.
Then off to Starbucks for some fuel and to finish off makeup application, ready to go Hyper Japan. I tried an eggnog latte, it was surprisingly delicious.
My outfit this day…
Sweater & Stockings – ManiaQ / Headbow – Candyholic / Socks - Metamorphose / Shoes – Ebay / Bloomers – Bodyline / Fur Collar - F+F at Tesco / Bag – Primark
Hyper Japan is a Japanese Cultural event celebrating food, fashion, games, movies, music, etc. Got inside just in time to support Kairi in her panel. We only heard she was doing it a few days prior, so attending HJ was a very last minute thing as I originally wasn't planning on going. The fashion content at this HJ was extremely lacking, so supporting Kai and seeing friends was the main draw (disappointed with the organisers!). Kairi was part of the Marble Collection fashion inspiration discussion with Junya Yamada and Masayuki Fukuyama (Director and Producer of Marble Collection in Tokyo). She was dressed in pop kei fashion and wearing a lot of her own brand, Candyholic. I thought she answered questions well and asked interesting questions herself about performance meeting fashion.
Me with the panel in the background, and Kai is glowing so bright you can’t see her haha
Later, caught up with random friends who were scattered about the event, and got some delicious Japanese food. I ate chicken dumplings and a pumpkin croquette burger, so nommmm.
With the lovely Intrinsically Florrie!
Kai and I were wearing matching ManiaQ stockings <3
With Reina :3
Roxie Sweetheart. I bought some earrings from here…
Emily! The singer of Pharaohs From the Grave.
And check out Hester’s chin!! :’D…
Just before we left we decided to check out a Japanese band that were performing. They were called Ninjaman Japan and looked like OTT gay Power Rangers from Space. Strangest performance I have seen XD It involved Power Ranger-esque posing, a ninja fight, and para para dancing. I don’t even. XD Not my thing tbh haha.
Off to Finlay’s to sort ourselves out for partying later, and to predrink. The affordable way to get drunk in London! lol.
Kai was having the time of her life…
First we went to Japan Underground which was at The Pipeline in Liverpool Street. A girl punk band called Toquiwa were playing. They were so energetic and fun to watch! They had this amazing rock’n’roll spirit to them. Definitely my type of music. I would go see them again if they tour the UK!
Boob friends <3
Then around 1am, we headed to Slimelight in Angel, a dark EBM industrial dance club night. I’ve been here previously and I love that they have multiple floors and a ball pit!
On the night bus on the way to DeMc’s place he got us lost in South London and we ended up having to get 3 different buses. What was that, he only LIVES in London XDD So we ended up getting home 6am :’)
Result – an epic enjoyable Saturday :D My first off in months; I’m happy I made the most of it :D
